Eddie Lucio Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a fund that grants $500 dollar scholarships to Cameron, Willacy, Kleberg, Kenedy and Hidalgo County high school graduates planning to enroll in a state funded institution of higher learning in Cameron, Kleberg or Hidalgo County. Applicants must have cleared all admission requirements, registered for at least nine hours and must be American citizens. They must not receive any other scholarships. The high schools are notified on the availability of scholarships and the students are selected from recommendations made by high school counselors. The counselors submit three male and three female applicants per scholarship and the final selections are made by the scholarship fund board members. The amount of each scholarship is $500. There will be two students, one boy and one girl, selected from each high school in Cameron, Willacy, Kleberg, Kenedy and Hidalgo counties.
